Respect Life Month is Almost Here!

Since 1972 the bishops of the United States have designated October as Respect Life Month, with the first Sunday of the month specifically pointed toward preaching on the dignity of the human person and the crisis in society due to the assaults on human life.

Our parish group will be displaying a series of posters covering the topics that are crucial  to a fuller understanding of a culture  life: abortion, capital punishment and euthanasia/assisted-suicide, the dignity of marriage and love/contraception, IVF and embryonic stem cell research. We will, of course, also be offering specific petitions during the liturgy and praying a prayer for life at the close of the mass each day throughout the month.

I’m hoping to post a quote each day from the Gospel of Life or another source in order to focus our thoughts on the issue.

Check at your parish, see what’s planned there! Perhaps you’ll be willing to share about it here.
