Humanae Vitae – 43 years old!

Realizing this is a day late, I felt it important to note anyway.

Yesterday was the 43rd anniversary of the encyclical Humanae Vitae, Of Human Life, written by His Holiness Pope Paul VI in 1968.

Married love particularly reveals its true nature and nobility when we realize that it takes its origin from God, who “is love,” the Father “from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. (#8)

Humane Vitae reinforced the Church’s teaching on contraception, promulgated in other encyclicals, particularly Casti Conubii, On Christian Marriage, released in 1930 by Pope Pius XI.

Pope Paul VI issued a prophetic document in HV. If only we had listened then… how different the world might be today

And while I may be tardy in posting this, it is never too late to follow the Church in her wisdom and teachings. The best time to obey is today!
